The highly-anticipated Kanguva is gearing up to be one of the biggest releases of the year, with Suriya in the lead role. The makers have unveiled the second single titled Yolo’, a lively party anthem by renowned musician, Devi Sri Prasad. This track introduces Suriya’s character, Francis, for the first time.
Performed by Devi Sri Prasad and Lavita Lobo, with lyrics by Viveka, Yolo is likely to be the opening number of Kanguva, promising a strong start for this eagerly awaited film. In addition to Suriya, Disha Patani plays the female lead, while Bobby Deol takes on the role of the antagonist, marking both actors’ debuts in Tamil cinema.
Here’s the Song:
Suriya is set to showcase his versatility, taking on a dual role that connects the present with a storyline set 500 years in the past. After a two-year break from theatrical releases, he aims for a powerful comeback with this film.
Originally scheduled for October 10, Kanguva has been rescheduled to November 14, 2024. It will premiere in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. The audio launch is set for October 26 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai, promising to be an exciting event.
As the release date approaches, the Kanguva team is ramping up promotional efforts. The new song, Yolo, is described as a high-energy track with infectious beats that will get audiences dancing. Unlike the folk-inspired number, Fire, released earlier, Yolo embraces a modern, urban sound that fits well with party vibes. The video includes glimpses of Suriya and Disha enjoying life in contemporary settings, hinting at their on-screen chemistry.
The contrast between the two songs, set in different timelines, has certainly sparked the audience’s curiosity. Directed by Siva and produced by Studio Green and UV Creations, Kanguva is one of the most expensive Indian productions, with a budget over Rs 350 crore. With a star-studded cast, including Jagapathi Babu, Natarajan Subramaniam, and Yogi Babu, and a talented crew featuring cinematographer Vetri Palanisamy and editor Nishadh Yusuf, Kanguva is set to release in multiple formats, including 3D and IMAX, on November 14, 2024.
