Twinkle Khanna wishes Hema Malini was her mother after Dimple Kapadia scolds her

Actor-turned-author Twinkle Khanna was recently dismissed by her mother, Dimple Kapadia, for making “noise pollution” as she complained about sanitation problems in the country. This made Twinkle wish that actor Hema Malini, who promotes a water purifier brand and also recently performed on the shores of the Ganga to promote the message of keeping rivers clean, was her mother.
In her latest column for The Times of India, Twinkle highlighted Sholay actor Hema Malini’s efforts to promote clean rivers and clean drinking water. She wrote, “No one in the country is more interested in giving India clean water than Hema ji.” Twinkle also pointed out how Hema recently performed a “dance ballet on the shores of the Ganga to spread the message of keeping our rivers clean.”
Twinkle also mentioned that though her mother, Dimple Kapadia, lives within walking distance from her home, she still does not like to walk, as people do not think twice before littering the roads or how nothing stops “fellow Indians from making Rorschach patterns of paan on street corners.”
As Twinkle called her mother Dimple Kapadia to rant about her ‘pet peeves,’ she was told, “There was less noise pollution during the Ganpati processions than what you are making right now,” before Kapadia hung up the phone.
She joked, “This is not the first time I have wished that Hema Malini was my mother instead. Not only could we discuss clean water at length, but I would also receive a lifetime supply of free water purifiers.”
Twinkle Khanna is the daughter of the late actor Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia. She is married to actor Akshay Kumar.
